A quiet ceramic tea setting selected by TEA OBJECTS

Our story · Fujian

Close to the kiln. Open to the world.

TEA OBJECTS is a two-person studio shaped by a ceramic family background, a working production partnership and a belief that good tea ware does not need to shout.

A note from us

We began with what was already around us.

Ceramics were never distant objects in our lives. We grew up around the language of clay, glaze, firing and the small practical decisions that turn a drawing into something you can hold.

TEA OBJECTS is run by two people. That small scale keeps our eye close to every object and our communication direct. Behind us is a real working production base in Dehua, where many stages of ceramic production are completed by hand, alongside a ground-floor showroom, production resources and an office above.

We created this shop to bring together quieter, more resolved work from the local ceramic network: pieces with clear function, thoughtful proportion and enough character to become part of a daily ritual.

A quiet ceramic tea session

Two people, one close network

Small enough to pay attention.

We are not a faceless catalogue. We select, edit and present the collection ourselves, working directly with the people who know the objects and how they are made.

Our size lets us move carefully. Our local supply network gives us the depth to serve customers beyond China without losing that personal point of view.

01Useful beauty

Objects should feel as good in use as they look at rest.

02Honest origins

We describe the handwork that is genuinely part of production, name where objects come from and avoid invented certification or master stories.

03Quiet confidence

Good proportion and material presence need no exaggerated language.

The local edit

Independent voices. Shared ceramic ground.

This part of Fujian is home to a growing group of small, design-minded tea-ware studios and established ceramic producers. We bring together selected work from this close local network, choosing each object for its form, function and material presence rather than the name attached to it.

The result is not one factory pretending to make everything. It is a considered store supported by a capable local production and sourcing network.

Documented context

Handwork and heritage, described precisely.

Many stages in our ceramic production are completed by hand. This is a first-hand fact about how we work; it is not the same as claiming that every piece is 100% handmade or individually heritage-certified. Dehua is home to a nationally recognized porcelain-firing tradition, and the historic Weilin–Neiban and Qudougong Dehua kiln sites form part of UNESCO’s “Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China” World Heritage property. These recognitions describe a regional tradition and protected historic sites—not a blanket certification for every modern object. We document material, origin and specific production details as closely as the available records allow. Read our Dehua porcelain and Blanc de Chine guide.
